Musician Mike Posner has concluded his six-month walk across the US.

My name is Mike Posner and I walked across America, the 31-year-old singer captioned a Boomerang video shared online on Friday. Keep Going.

Posner, known for hit songs like Cooler Than Me and I Took A Pill In Ibiza, embarked on his journey in Ashbury Park, New Jersey in mid-April. The goal was to walk from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, and he successfully completed the trip after walking more than 2,800 miles and arriving in Venice Beach, California.

Posner told Billboard that's he wanted to take on the trip for years and years, and felt particularly motivated after the death of his father due to brain cancer in 2017. The following year, his friend and collaborator Avicii committed suicide and Mac Miller died from an overdose.

Posner also created a fundraiser to raise $100,000 to make sure that the daughters of his late friend Ronnie Posey II, Aautumn and Wynter, could afford to go to college.

The musician has been open about his journey, which he has titled The Walk Across America, by sharing updates with fans on social media.

I don't even know what this experience means in the context of my life yet, Posner wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, days before finishing his walk.

I do know that I am not the same person I was when I started, he continued. I'm harder. I'm more authentic. I'm more real. I'm more myself. That's the only trophy I need. Keep going.

Prior to that, Posner revealed that he got bitten by a baby rattlesnake while walking through Colorado in August.

Crazy day yesterday! I had just crushed 16 miles and was going for 8 more when I got bit by a baby rattlesnake! he captioned a video of himself on a gurney.

That venom is no joke! I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time, Posner continued.

In a video shared days later from his hospital bed, Posner said that he knew walking across America was going to be dangerous.

I knew I could die doing it. I still might. So don't feel sorry for me. I'm proud I'm in this hospital after chasing my dream and not sitting on the couch watching Netflix. I'm proud of this pain, he captioned the video.

The singer thought that he wouldn't be able to walk for several weeks, he was back on his feet days later to continue his trip.
